Won World Cup 2011 not because of Dhoni: Sehwag

Update: 2015-10-29 09:41 GMT
Virender Sehwag who announced his retirement from International Cricket recently says Indian ODI Skipper MS Dhoni shouldn't think about retirement till World Cup 2019. If Dhoni could play as captain till next World Cup, He can leave behind a good World Cup team. If Dhoni retires now, Can't find a perfect guy for 5th/6th/7th slots in the team to finish the match properly," he told.

On the reports that he was dropped from the team because of tiff with Dhoni: Sehwag rubbished the reports and declared Dhoni is a good man at heart. He added, Reports that all is not well between Sehwag and Dhoni is just media speculation. Selectors have taken the call to drop him, not Dhoni.

On Captaincy: Sehwag clarifies he never aspired to become Captain or Vice Captain and he was happy to play under Dhoni.

Credit to Dhoni for WC 2011 win: Not just the Captain, Entire Team has to get the credit. I  scored 175 in first match and had couple of good matches. Dhoni scored 95 in last match and under-performed in the rest. Gambhir made valuable contributions and Yuvraj is Man of the Series. We won World Cup not due to Captain but because of the Team.
