World's Tallest Chhatrapati Shivaji Statue In Sea

PM Narendra Modi has begun the race for Tallest Statue by establishing Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Statue in Gujarat. And now, BJP and non-BJP Chief Ministers have been aiming for World’s Tallest Statues in their respective states. Already, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and UP CM Yogi Adityanath has revealed their plans to set up NTR and Lord Rama statues respectively. This time, It’s the turn of Maharashtra Government to walk in the same path.

BJP Government in Maharashtra came up with a proposal of establishing Chhatrapati Shivaji Statue in Arabian Sea off Mumbai Coast with a budget of Rs 3,643.78 crore. This project would be completed by 2022 or 2023.

Cabinet offered administrative approval to the Shivaji Statue project and sanctioned total expenditure on November 1st this year.

Rs 2,581 crore will required for the construction of the statue. While Rs 236 crore is being provided for security infrastructure, Rs 45 crore were allotted for permanent water and electricity supply. Rs 2 crore will be spent on study tours for the project and Rs 1 crore on repair work. About Rs 309.72 crore would be charged as GST on the total expenditure.
