On a shocking note, senior leader Yashwant Sinha quit BJP and taking sanyas from politics. It is definitely a big blow to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. He did the roles of Union Finance Minister, Union Foreign Minister in Vajpayee government between 1998 and 2004. He blamed the present conditions in the party and quit the party.
In an open letter, he said, "Today I am ending all ties with the BJP... I am taking sanyas (retirement) from any kind of party politics."
He joined the BJP in the 1990s after a brief stint with the then Janata Dal. Since then he has become a crucial part of BJP and his son Jayant Sinha is currently serving as the Minister of State for Civil Aviation in Narendra Modi's cabinet. Jayant hasn't responded to the decision of his father yet.
