The YSRCP recorded a landslide victory in the 2019 polls and the party is eyeing to record an even a big victory in the upcoming general polls. For that, the party leadership is busy selecting winning horses for the MLA and MP seats in the polls. Moreover, the party wants to bank on welfare schemes.
The YSRCP leadership is said to be focusing on the MP seat in the temple city Vijaywada. In the last two terms, the Telugu Desam Party won the elections. Despite the Jagan wave playing a big impact, TDP won the Parliament polls with Kesineni Nani emerging victorious.
To stop the grand old TDP from scoring a hat-trick of wins, the ruling party is chalking out plans in selecting the candidate and the party reportedly found a firebrand leader as a suitable candidate for the MP polls.
As per the media reports, the leadership reportedly zeroed on former Minister Kodali Nani to run the polls from the Vijayawada constituency. As Kodali Nani and Kesineni Nani hail from the same community, this might also favour the party in the polls given the dominance the community enjoys there.
However, there is also doubt on whether Kodali Nani will move to Vijayawada from Gudivada as the ex-Minister has been contesting from Gudivada for a very long time. He might try his luck in Vijayawada if Jagan insists.
If everything goes well and Kodali Nani agrees to the alleged proposal to contest the polls from the Vijayawada constituency, then we might see two Nanis taking on each other in the intense polls.
