YCP Makes Chandrababu Sit For Protest In Kuppam!

Update: 2022-08-25 09:28 GMT
With a big focus on the forthcoming polls, Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu is touring constituencies to meet the leaders thee. The other day, Chandrababu Naidu reached his constituency Kuppam to start his tour. He was received amid massive celebrations by the cadre. As per the schedule, he was supposed to open the Anna Canteen.

However, the political atmosphere in Kuppam changed at once with tense situations. It is said that the Anna Canteen in Kuppam was reportedly vandalised and the posters set up there were removed by the YSRCP supporters. These developments made TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu stage a protest sitting on the road.

The TDP supporters reached the post to support the former Chief Minister. With the political heat increased, the cops made it to the place to see that no unwanted scenes would happen there. A bundh-like situation is going on in Kuooam now.

Anna Canteens has been the target of the YCP after it won the polls. In a phased manner the canteens have been removed by the government stating various reasons. The opposition party even requested the government to let the Anna Canteens be run so that the poor can get food at less price. TDP even gave the example of Tamil Naidu how DMK is not closing Amma Canteens but in vain.

Almost all the canteens were shut in the state. Only a few are allowed to run. In Nandigama, the local Telugu Desam Party had to get court orders to run the establishments. With the Municipal officials running after them, the TDP leaders knocked on the doors of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

One cannot understand what problem the YCP has with the Anna Canteens. If the government has any issues, then it can change the title of NTR and have kept any other name. Governments changing the names of the schemes and projects is not new and we have been seeing this for quite some time.

Anna Canteens are not party offices that would become an issue for the ruling party. They are meant to serve the poor and the Canteens have been running for a very long time.
