Yogi Adityanath's Government removed Taj Mahal from the state tourism booklet 'Uttar Pradesh Paryatan - Apaar Sambhavnayen' published by Tourism Department.
Taj Mahal, which is known to be a monument of love, is one among the Seven Wonders of the World. People from across the World come to India to catch a glimpse of this beautiful monument.
In June 2017, UP CM opined Ramayana and Bhagwad Gita represent Indian Culture, not Taj Mahal. There is no mention of Taj Mahal in 'Hamari Sanskritik Virasat' during the presentation his Government's First Budget Presentation.
Following the criticism, UP Government informed a photograph of Taj Mahal will be included in the Tourism Booklet very soon.
The photograph of Ganga Aarti appears on the cover of UP Tourism Booklet along with pics of Yogi Adityanath and Tourism Minister Ritu Bahuguna Joshi. This booklet covers tourist spots in the state such as Ganga Aarti location in Varanasi, Gorakh Peeth in Gorakhpur, Ayodhya and other religious places.
