YS Viveka Death Case: Supreme Court Gives Key Orders!

The Supreme Court gave key orders on the death case of former Minister YS Vivekananda Reddy. Hearing a petition the country's top court gave orders on the cancellation of the bail petition of the accused Gangireddy. The issue was transferred to Telangana High Court.

The Supreme Court asked the Telangana High Court to hold a hearing on the bail granted to Erri Gangireddy by the Andhra Pradesh High Court. It is known that the case was transferred to Telangana. Following this, the Apex Court said that the bail issue should be heard by the same court.

During the hearing, the Supreme Court said that bail cannot be granted to the accused without considering the merits of the case. The Telangana Court was asked to look into the merits now.

Having said that, the Apex Court maintained that there is a facility to cancel the bail of the accused if he fails to cooperate. Now the ball is in Telangana's High Court to decide on the bail.

 YS Vivekananda Reddy was killed at his house in Pulivendula ahead of the general elections in March 2019. Errigangireddy is dubbed as the accused in the case. He was on bail and he is roaming freely in Pulivendula.

The CBI which is probing the matter moved the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of his bail. Hearing the petition the Apex Court transferred the case to Telangana High Court.
