The sensational murder case of former Member of the Lok Sabha Y. S. Vivekananda Reddy, which had raised many eyebrows, was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI). The central agency is not leaving any stone unturned in the probe and investigating the case from various corners. As a sensational development in the case, one of the main accused has turned approver and is ready to help the agency in the investigation.
As per the media reports, one of the four main accused in the case, Sheik Dastagiri became approver. Saying the same, the CBI had asked the court to record his testimony as his statement can guide them in hitting the bullseye in the investigation. The CBI moved the court on Thursday with a petition on this. Dastagiri used to be a driver for YS Viveka.
As a counterargument, the advocates representing the three other accused in the case told the court that they cannot file a counter-affidavit with the court without knowing what was mentioned in Datagiri's statement. The other accused sought directives from the Magistrate that the CBI should submit the statement of the accused and the entire testimony process should be done in the presence of the Magistrate.
Satisfied with the arguments of the other accused, the Magistrate Court had adjourned the next hearing in the case to the 17th of this month. While postponing the hearing, the Court also asked the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) to file a counter at the next hearing.
Tracing the crucial developments in the case, the CBI had grilled the four suspects Erra Gangireddy, Sunil Yadav, Dastagiri, and Umashankar Reddy, and prepared a charge sheet on the 26th of October. Before the CBI filed the charge sheet, Dastagiri moved the court with a bail petition and the court granted him the bail.
The CBI had knocked on the doors of the Sub court in Kadapa saying that the statement of Dastagiri should be recorded. The agency said, Dastagiri had turned approver and his statement, in this case, is very crucial. As a response to Dastagiri turning approver, the other accused requested the court that the testimony should be done before the court.
