YSR Congress Party president and Opposition Leader in Andhra Pradesh Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday announced that his party will impose total ban on liquor in the state after coming into power in the next elections.
Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed shock at the tragic deaths due to spurious liquor in Vijayawada bar. Jagan visited the families of those killed and people who fell seriously ill after consuming liquor at Swarna Bar. He demanded the government to provide proper medical aid to the victims and asked to provide Rs20 lakh exgratia to each family. He also demanded that the chief minister Chandrababu Naidu must apologize to the people for the liquor disaster.
Jagan Mohan speaking to meida alleged that the chief minister is running the state like his own business house and making money out of each and every activity. "We are now giving chance to Chandrababu to ban liquor. Or else we will ban it when we formed the govt in the next elections," he said.
As many as five people died and 15 persons fell sick after consuming spurious liquor in Vijayawada's Swarna Bar in the morning. The condition of four persons is stated to be critical.
