Dishearten with character assassination campaign unleashed on few websites against YS Sharmila, the YSR Congress on Saturday lodged a complaint with the Hyderabad commissioner of police. Ongole MP SV Subba Reddy and Somayajulu met CP Mahender Reddy and urged him to take stern action against the culprits
Subba Reddy said Almost 20 - 25 websites were involved in this smear campaign. Sharmilamma was targeted only because she stood by her brother YS Jagan.We requested the police to take proper steps to kill this capaign
Police were acted quick on the complaint and arrested two of the culprits. They have been identified as Sreepathi Naresh, 29, a web designer and a resident of Shankarnagar in Amberpet, and 32-year-old Jannapu Reddy Kartheek, a private employee and resident of Nayeemnagar, in Warangal district.
Its worth to mention here that a smear campaign against Sharmila in the cruelest manner was launched with the sole intention to tarnish her honor and dignity . Either its a celebrity or common person it will be very painful for any woman to give explanations about the rumors which she was never known.
Sharmila was one of the star campaigner for YSRCP in last elections.She created unbeaten record by doing mammoth Padayatra.It may be recalled that the smear campaign was unleashed during the assembly elections.Its a shame that todays politics has becomes so lowly, insensitive and unmindful toward a woman.This type of campaigns will deteriorate the confidence levels of any woman and all people should fight for the womans self-respect.We hope that Police will take immediate action against the persons who involved in the smear campaign.
