YSRCP MLA sees Heroes in Police for Saving his Family!

Update: 2022-05-25 08:43 GMT
Implementing the election promise, the Andhra Pradesh government recently added new districts and named a few districts after eminent personalities. Legendary Telugu actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and Freedom fighter Alluri Sita Rama Raju have districts named after them. Barring a few protests, the renaming process went peacefully without any tense situations.

However, the district renaming episode turned violent with a few organizations having issues with the Konaseema district named after Ambedkar. Their fight to have the Konaseema name resulted in a tense situation with property damage in Amalapuram town. Even the cops could not control the angry mob.

The protests lost control with the protestors damaging property that came their way. After damaging buses, the protestors set the house of Minister Viwsaroop and MLA, Satish Kumar, on fire. The family members of MLA have managed to escape the disaster.

The MLA and his family members are seeing the Police as heroes who saved them and shifted them to a safe location. Speaking to the media, the MLC narrated the horrific experience of seeing the angry mobs and how he escaped from them without getting hurt.

MLA Satish Kumar said that, by the time he and his family members saw a mob gathering outside his house, a part of his house was set on fire making it tough for them to go out. But the cops came to their rescue and brought them out by clearing the mob. If not for the police intervention, the situation might have been worse.

Reports say that the proposal made by the Andhra Pradesh government to rename the Konaseema district as BR Ambedkar Konaseema district did not go well with a section of locals who were not happy with this. To see that the Konaseema name is not removed, a protest was held by the Konaseema Zilla Sadhana Samiti.

After staging a protest by holding banners that the Konaseema district name should be retained, a few protests bulldozed towards the Collectorate and surrounded it prompting the Police to get into action. With no option left, the cops used the lathi charge against the protesting mob.
