Eluru MP Kotagiri Sridhar stirred up a controversy when he openly admitted that the YSRCP was supporting the BJP government at the Centre.He said that the YSRCP government at the centre was getting benefited due to its association with the BJP at the Centre. The opposition is now using these comments to attack the YSRCP government.
The opposition has already been accusing the YSRCP of being a captive in the hands of the BJP government at the Centre. Now the opposition has got a stick to beat the YSRCP. They are using these statements to say that the Jagan Government is dancing to the tunes of the Central Government.
Kotagiri Sridhar, an NRI and son of former TDP heavyweight Kotagiri Vidhyadhera Rao, is known to make such off-the-cuff statements. He made these comments during a recent visit to Tirupati. During the interaction with the media, he also said that the BJP-YSRCP bonhomie would continue after the 2024 elections too.
He even said that the YSRCP may even join the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre provided the Centre gives special status to Andhra Pradesh. He said that there was nothing secretive about the BJP-YSRCP bond of friendship. He said he was confident that even special status could be achieved in due course of time.
