It is already known that the government of Andhra Pradesh has been very adamant about implementation of the capital project in the state. They are now taking active measures in this regard to make sure that Amaravati is the permanent capital with a strong legal jurisdiction.
Amaravati’s long pending capital issue is now moving decisively toward resolution, with strong indications that a dedicated Capital Bill may be introduced in the upcoming Parliament sessions. The Home Ministry has already cleared the related file, and it is currently under final review by the Legal Department.
This signals that the procedural groundwork at the central level is almost complete. Central Minister Pemmassani Chandrashekhar has also confirmed that the formal process to recognize Amaravati as the official capital of Andhra Pradesh is nearing its final stage.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had earlier met Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the capital matter, stressing the need for clarity and stability after years of uncertainty.
The potential introduction of the Bill in Parliament is expected to provide a permanent and legally unambiguous declaration of Amaravati as the state’s capital. This move is seen as crucial to ending the prolonged confusion that has affected governance, planning and investments in the region.
Once the Bill is tabled and the Gazette notification process becomes clear, activities in the Amaravati region are expected to gain significant momentum.
