The government of Andhra Pradesh has taken a pretty strong stand in favour of the quantum Valley and quantum computing. In this context, chief minister, Chandrababu has inaugurated the quantum valley in Amaravati today.
Andhra Pradesh took a significant step toward becoming a technology driven state as Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for the Amaravati Quantum Valley on February 7, 2026.
The project is coming up at Uddandarayunipalem in the Amaravati capital region and is being seen as a major push to place the state on the global map of advanced research and innovation. Union Minister for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh was also present at the launch, highlighting the importance of the initiative at the national level.
The Amaravati Quantum Valley is planned as India’s first fully integrated quantum ecosystem. It will bring together quantum computing infrastructure, software development, research facilities, and talent development within a single campus.
The goal is to create a strong environment where industry, academia, startups, and researchers can collaborate on future technologies.
More than 50 partners, including leading technology companies and institutions, are expected to be part of the project. Plans reportedly include installing a powerful 133 qubit quantum computer and enabling cloud access for researchers and enterprises across the country. Authorities have allocated about 50 acres for the development and are aiming for rapid execution.
The initiative is expected to generate skilled jobs, attract global investment, and strengthen India’s ambitions under the National Quantum Mission while positioning Amaravati as a serious contender among emerging global tech hubs.
