The job market in India has been going down drastically in the recent years and things aren’t looking positive in the near future either. It’s reported that Amazon Prime is on the verge of firing another 14,000 employees in the next few days.
Recent media reports claim that Amazon is planning another major round of layoffs affecting around 14,000 employees globally. This potential cut would follow earlier job reductions and, if confirmed, represent one of the largest workforce adjustments in the company’s history.
The layoffs are said to span multiple corporate areas, including mid‑level management, cloud computing units, human resources and other administrative roles. These reports suggest that the reduction is part of a broader effort to streamline operations and reduce overall costs after a period of rapid hiring in previous years.
This announcement comes on the heels of significant job cuts already implemented by Amazon. In late 2025, the company eliminated around 14,000 positions.
A further round occurring in early 2026 reportedly saw close to 16,000 jobs cut across various departments. Taken together, these figures indicate that Amazon could be approaching a total workforce reduction near 30,000 employees over less than a year.
Amazon, however, has publicly denied the specific claim of a new 14,000‑job layoff round, calling the reports inaccurate and unsubstantiated. The company stresses that workforce decisions are continually under review in response to changing market conditions and business needs, especially as it invests more in automation and artificial intelligence.
At this stage, the situation remains fluid. Employees and industry observers are watching closely for any official confirmation from Amazon regarding the timing, scope and specific teams that might be affected.
