The government of Andhra Pradesh and chief minister Chandrababu Naidu have been extensively focusing on enhancing the social infrastructure of the state. They are leaving no stone unturned to generate significant investments and refine the social status of the state.
In this context, something very interesting is happening as Andhra Pradesh is likely to welcome the first Disney city in Anantapur.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has come up with a big plan to boost tourism in the state. He asked the Tourism Department to study the possibility of building a Disney World City in Anantapur. For this, talks may be held with the global entertainment giant Walt Disney.
This idea is part of a larger vision to turn Andhra Pradesh into a world-class tourist destination. Along with big projects, the government also wants to encourage spiritual, cultural, and eco-tourism.
Plans are being made to introduce homestays in temple towns like Tirupati and Srisailam so that visitors can experience local traditions. Heritage towns like Machilipatnam and Visakhapatnam are also being considered for cultural stays.
Anantapur has been chosen for the Disney project because it lies on the busy Bengaluru–Hyderabad corridor, making it easily accessible. It is also close to spiritual centers like Puttaparthi, which adds value for tourists.
Other plans include tent cities in scenic areas, eco-tourism projects, and light-and-sound shows at heritage sites. Right now, the Disney World City is only a proposal, and no agreement has been signed. But if successful, it could transform Anantapur and create new opportunities.
