It is already known that the effects of the ongoing war between Iran and the United States has resulted in a severe depletion in natural gas supply in India. Subsequently, several hotels and restaurants are restricting operations already.

The Andhra Pradesh Hotels Association has taken a series of major decisions in response to the ongoing LPG shortage affecting the state. Following a meeting held recently, the association announced that member hotels will immediately stop catering to food delivery services such as Swiggy and Zomato.

The decision is aimed at managing limited cooking gas supplies and prioritizing direct customers visiting hotels and restaurants.

In addition to suspending deliveries through online platforms, the association has also decided to withdraw all discounts that were previously offered to customers. Hotel owners believe that continuing discounts during a fuel shortage would make it difficult for businesses to manage rising operational costs.

Another key decision taken during the meeting is the implementation of a weekly shutdown. As per the new plan, hotels across the state that are part of the association will remain closed every Monday.

The move is intended to reduce daily gas consumption and help businesses cope with the shortage.

The association has called for the immediate implementation of these measures and warned that further steps may be taken depending on how the LPG supply situation develops in the coming days.

Andhra Pradesh, like several other parts of the country, is currently experiencing an LPG supply crunch, creating serious challenges for the hotel and restaurant industry.
