I had 5 More Seconds left: Angelo Mathews On Timed Out!

Sri Lanka which hosted the 2023 edition of the Asia Cup faced a humiliating defeat in the hands of India in the finals. The team is not having any good time in the ongoing World Cup as well and it is out of the tournament. After facing a 302-run defeat in India's hands Sri Lanka's NRR went for a toss and got out of the tournament.
Adding salt to the wounds Sri Lanka all-rounder Angelo Mathews entered the history books for the wrong reasons. He became the first player in the history of the game to get out on 'timed out'. When the Bangladesh team appealed for the out umpires gave him out.
A big controversy has been going on about his dismissal since yesterday. Angelo Mathews has been fighting to prove there is nothing wrong on his side and despite this, he was given out.
Now the all-rounder posted a video on his X saying that he had five seconds left by the time he was given out and asked if the umpires could rectify this and correct the mistake. He shared a screenshot highlighting the time when the catch was taken and he was given out.
“4th umpire is wrong here! Video evidence shows I still had 5 more seconds even after the helmet gave away! Can the 4th umpire rectify this please? I mean safety is paramount as I just couldn't face the bowler without a helmet,” the Sri Lanka player said.
Angelo Mathews was given out when he could not take the first delivery after coming to the ground within two minutes of coming to the crease. As there was some issue with his helmet he asked for a replacement. As it took some time Bangladesh appealed for a timed out and was given out.
