Chandrababu Naidu became the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh again with a lot of expectations. During the campaign, he said that the state’s finances were not in a good place and there is no development. He promised to balance welfare and development in the state. He is having a busy time as the Chief Minister.
The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister chaired a key Cabinet meeting and crucial decisions are said to have been taken. It is said that the controversial decisions taken in the previous decisions were cancelled to change the status quo.
The previous YSRCP government brought the reverse tendering process. But this initiative led to a big row and the opposition alleged that the initiative served no purpose.
Now the Cabinet approved the decision to cancel reverse tendering and call for the tenders like earlier. The Cabinet also gave its nod to cancel the Special Enforcement Bureau(SEB).
We have seen how the idea of having Jagan’s photo on the Pattadhar passbook (PPB) led to criticism. The Cabinet now approved the decision to remove Jagan’s pictures.
Looking at the other decisions taken by the Cabinet, it approved to hold elections for irrigation water bodies. The decision to restore the work at the Polavaram left canal was also accepted.
On the other hand, the state government had decided to increase the salaries of Archakas in temples to Rs 15,000 from the existing Rs 10,000. The amount small temples get under the Dhoopa Deepa Naivedyam Scheme was also doubled. Nayee Brahmins' salary was also increased in the temples. In addition to this, the government said additional members will be appointed in the temple boards.
