Massive Relief To CM: Supreme Court Grants Interim Bail!

He is a Chief Minister and expanded his party beyond his region. He is dubbed as one of the possible PM’s faces. But everything had gone for a toss with his arrest in connection with the sensational Delhi Liquor Scam. With this, he became the first sitting Chief Minister to get arrested. After a long wait, he was given relief by the court.

We are talking about Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal here. The Supreme Court gave him a big relief by granting him an interim bail. He was granted the ball till the 1st of June. After spending around two months in jail, the AAP chief was granted interim bail. After the tenure of the bail, he should surrender to the jail authorities.

This can be seen as a big relief to the Chief Minister. June 1st marks the date of the last phase of elections in the country. On the same day, he would surrender to the authorities. His lawyers sought bail till the fourth of June. But the bail was granted till the 1st of June only.

It has to be mentioned here that earlier reports said that in the last hearing, the Supreme Court said Arvind Kejriwal cannot render his services if he is granted an interim bail. Having said that, the Top Court reportedly said he is the elected CM and the ongoing circumstances are extraordinary.

With this, we have to see whether Arvind Kejriwal would continue as the CM or would let others do the job. We might get clarity on this soon and let us wait for the clarity to come.

On the other hand, there is no clarity on whether the Chief Minister would campaign for the elections or not. The opposition parties have been alleging that the CM was arrested as the BJP cannot face him in elections. With his interim bail, we might expect the opposition parties to use the issue to target the BJP.

The Delhi CM was arrested by the ED in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy. This added more sensation to the case. Earlier a few Ministers and Kavitha were arrested. But the Delhi CM’s arrest came as a shock to one and all.
