Can CM Function From Jail, Former PRO Responds!
The Delhi Liquor Scam continues to trouble the AAP. A few Ministers were arrested and sent to prison
The Delhi Liquor Scam continues to trouble the AAP. A few Ministers were arrested and sent to prison. With this, the AAP government had to reshuffle the cabinet and fill the vacancies that were created by the arrest of two Ministers. As if that is not enough Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was also arrested.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in connection with the case. This makes him the first Chief Minister to get arrested despite holding the position. He was arrested and sent to remand. The CM will complete his remand in Tihar Jail.
As Arvind Kejriwal did not resign as CM, a big debate is going on about whether he would be the first CM to function from the jail. No other CM did this as no serving CM was arrested by the authorities earlier.
Amid this, former Tihar jail PRO Sunil Kumar Gupta spoke to the news agency ANI and made sensational comments. Talking about this, he said that the chances of the same are very less.
Having a Chief Minister is not that easy and a lot of facilities should be equipped. The CM cannot take the decisions directly and has to discuss it with his cabinet and key officials. If the same should be done then the meetings should be accommodated inside the room which is allocated for the CM.
Visitors cannot be allowed inside the prison in groups. The CM cannot simply issue letters or documents and the CM has a lot of things to do. It needs a lot of infrastructure. It would be a big task for the government to arrange for the same.
The former PRO said the same in his interaction with the news agency. He said that running the government is a big task and arranging the facilities for the same will be next to impossible.
