Batsmen score valuable runs helping their teams to win. Getting out early in the innings without making good runs is the nightmare of batsmen and none of them want to do this. But a batsman is in the news for the wrong reason as he was given out in a bizarre manner.

Sri Lanka all-rounder Angelo Mathews made an unwanted record as he entered the history books as the first player to get out due to Timed Out. As per the rules he was given out by the empires. His attempts to make the umpires understand his situation went in vain.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh locked horns for a crucial match today. Sri Lanka batted first. Angelo Mathew entered the ground after Sadeera Samarawickrama lost his wicket. When Angelo Mathews geared up to face the first ball he detected some issues with his helmet and asked for a replacement. It took some time for him to face the first delivery.

With the delay in facing the ball, Bangladesh players appealed for an out and the umpires accepted this. This made Sri Lanka all-rounder Angelo Mathews become the first player to get out on time out.

Cricket fans are divided on this dismissal. While Bangladesh fans are backing this, Sri Lanka fans are not happy and they are fuming at the Bangladesh team. A big debate has been going on about this.

Talking about the timed-out rule, after a player loses a wicket, the next one should enter the pitch in three minutes. In the case of World Cups, the time is just two minutes. As Angelo Mathews could not face the first ball within two minutes Bangladesh appealed for dismissal and umpires gave him out.
