According to the latest Women, Peace, and Security Index, Denmark is recognized as the top country globally for women to live in.

Based on the insights of women and many World Report surveys, Denmark topped list as best country for women. Denmark, despite high taxes and long winters, stands out due to its “virtually free” healthcare and education systems, along with a commitment to gender equality. The country boasts an earnings-related childcare system and flexible parental leave policies within the European Union.

Denmark's appeal extends beyond women's living conditions; it's ranked second in the best countries to raise children and fourth on Save the Children’s Mother’s Index, emphasizing the well-being of mothers and children globally. Notably, retired Danish women are considered the most content in Europe, as indicated by a Eurostat study.

Sweden secures the second spot on the list, praised for its "progressive attitudes towards gender equality," according to a YouGov poll released last year. The report underscores the positive global perceptions of Denmark, reflecting its holistic approach to societal well-being and gender inclusivity.
