Which way will the Muslim voters go , this question is tormenting KCR big time these days. The Muslim voters, who hold the key to the victory or otherwise in at least 40 assembly constituencies, are keeping their options close to their chest. Both the BRS and the Congress are falling head over heels to lure the muslims on to their side.

Normally, the Muslims have supported the BRS in the 2019 elections. This time around, however, the Congress Party has been trying to wean them away from the BRS. It is said to be using the same strategy that it has employed to wean away the Muslims from the JDS in Karnataka. It managed to convince them that the JDS would eventually join the BJP front.

Similarly, the Congress is using the recent comments by Modi during his Nizamabad tour, where he had said that KCR has offered to join the NDA if the BJP supported it in the GHMC chairperson election. The Congress is trying to drive home the point that the BRS is the B team of the BJP at the national level.

Even if 40 per cent of the Muslim voters shift their allegiance towards the Congress, it could bring about a change in at least 10 seats. This could spell trouble for the ruling BRS, which is banking heavily on the Muslim vote. The Muslims of the Old City may still vote for the MIM, but elsewhere in the state, the situation is said to be extremely dynamic.
