The BJP in Telangana has left the Jana Sena shocked and bewildered. Days after talking electoral terms with the Jana Sena in Telangana, the BJP has announced its candidates for the seats that the Jana Sena has laid its claim on. This only means that there is no alliance whatsoever with the Jana Sena in the Telangana elections.

Interestingly, the Jana Sena wanted to put up its candidates for Khanapur, Patancheru, Ramagundam, Jagityal, Quthbullapur, Station Ghanpur, Palakurthi, Warangal West, Warangal East and Ilendu seats. However, the BJP’s first list shows that the party has its candidates in ten of these seats.

Now the big question is what state BJP chief Kishan Reddy and Rajya Sabha member Dr K Laxman discussed with Pawan Kalyan the other day. The Jana Sena too on its part announced its candidates for 32 seats in Telangana. Does it mean that there would be friendly contests between the Jana Sena and the BJP in these seats?

Political pundits say that the BJP leaders’ meeting with Pawan Kalyan has drawn severe criticism within the party rank and file. Questions were also raised over the need to enter into an alliance with the Jana Sena, which is largely seen as an Andhra party. The pundits believe that the leaders perhaps the leadership had a rethink on the issue and announced candidates for all the seats
