BJP Makes Its Stand Clear On Holding Jamili Elections?
A committee was constituted to look into various issues related to the Jamili elections.
The Bharatiya Janata Party which is in power at the Centre has been fighting for the demand of having One Nation, One Election. It has been batting for the Jamili elections to have Assembly and Parliament elections at a time. Despite the other parties opposing the idea, the BJP is going forward on this.
A committee was constituted to look into various issues related to the Jamili elections. The committee is led by former President of India Ram Nath Kovind which is seeking suggestions from various parties on the Jamili elections.
The BJP has been keeping its stand on the Jamili elections. The party made its stand clear and batted for the Jamili elections. On behalf of the party, its chief JP Nadda submitted the recommendations to the committee.
It is said that the BJP said that it is in favour of the Jamili elections. JP Nadda and a few other leaders met Ram Nath Kovind and said that they are supporting the Jamili elections as they would benefit the country as elections are held at a time.
It is not a wonder that the BJP supported the demand in its suggestions as it has been strongly supporting it. The logic BJP has for the Jamili elections is that earlier the Jamili elections were held. A few decades back the Jamili elections were held. Citing the elections, the BJP is batting for the demand.
However, the situations were different back then compared to now. However, the BJP wants to go forward with this idea of holding simultaneous elections for the Assembly and Parliament.
Talking about the costs to hold the Jamili elections it takes a big amount. As per the estimates it takes around Rs 1.20 lakh crores for the Lok Sabha seats alone and it takes additional expenditure for the Assembly seats.
