American Aerospace company Boeing is a big name that manufactures and runs airplanes. The airline giant suffered a big shock with two unwanted incidents earlier. The shocking incidents were reported in a short span and a probe was initiated to look into the issue. Now the issue took a big twist.
Going into details, two 737 MAX airplanes crashed in 2018 and 2019 in just five months. The crashes led to the death of 346 people. The airline company is said to have accepted its wrongdoing and agreed to pay a penalty.
As per the media reports, Boeing reportedly agreed to plead guilty and pay the fine. It is said that the company made an agreement with the Justice Department. The airline company would pledge guilty to conspiracy to defraud the United States and pay $ 243.6 million.
Besides this, the company said that it would invest as much as $455 million in the safety measures of the vehicles. However, the families of the victims did not like what had happened and expressed their dissatisfaction.
The families of the concerned victims said that the agreement won't provide them any relief and that the agreement is only favourable to the corporates. They said they placed all the evidence to prove the wrongdoings of the company and despite this, the agreement was accepted.
It is known that the two clashes happened in Indonesia and Ethiopia. The victims' families have been fighting against the company to see that it faces prosecution. However, the company made an agreement which did not go well with them and they are alleging that the agreement favours the corporates.
