Is the process underway to change the name of India to Bharat, this is the debate that has been going on. Though there is no official word from the Indian government, the opposition parties are creating a ruckus on this. A few leaders came out and slammed the ruling party on the row.

The reason behind the buzz and criticism is that the invitations that were sent to the guests of the G20 Summit have the President of Bharat written on them instead of the President of India. The pictures of the invitations are doing rounds.

Amid the buzz of India becoming Bharat, the move is getting support. Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag openly supported the proposal and said that the name should instill pride in us and the name India was given by Britishers and Bharat is our original name.

Sehwag did not stop there. He even urged the BCCI and secretary Jay Shah to see that the Indian players have Bharat on their chest. His tweet is getting wide attention from the netizens.

Virender Sehwag is not the only celebrity to support this. Bollywood legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan also joined the row. However, Mr.Bachchan posted Bharat Mata ki jai on Twitter without any further details.

Looking at the two developments it appears that the celebrities are ready to support the move to rename India as Bharat. We have got the opinion of two celebrities and we would get more clarity if more celebrities would weigh in.

The focus is on the southern states to see what would be the response of the celebrities here. We might get clarity on this in a few days. So let us wait and see what happens next.
