Chandrababu’s arrest: BJP’s bread has butter on both sides

Is the BJP directing the whole arrest drama of Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh? Those following the political developments in Andhra Pradesh say that the BJP has plotted the whole arrest to decimate the TDP and Chadrababu Naidu. The timing, the plan and the execution of Chandrababu’s arrest show hallmarks of BJP strategy, they argue.

The strongly feel that the whole arrest drama could not have happened without the BJP being in the loop. Ultimately, the case has its origins in the BJP gameplan. Chandrababu’s arrest at this juncture will hit the TDP plans and preparations for the 2024 elections. The TDP is now bereft of leadership and there is no one in the party who can take decisions on alliance, seat-sharing and candidate selection for the party.

Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan’s unconditional support to the TDP even while continuing his association with the BJP is meant to exploit the TDP’s weakness. Pawan will now demand his pound of flesh in lieu of his support to the TDP. Pawan may now demand more seats and want either CM or deputy CM post in return for his support.

This will ensure that even after winning the polls, the TDP would be at the mercy of the Jana Sena, which would be controlled by the BJP. Thus the BJP will have a complete control over the TDP through Jana Sena. Thus, Chandrababu would emerge quite weak after his arrest and would be forced to depend on the Jana Sena.
