Without any doubt, we can say that the Covid outbreak is the biggest disaster the world has witnessed in recent times. No words can describe the challenges we faced and the impact it had. Almost all the countries faced issues with Covid and everything around us came to a standstill.
Many countries including the United States blamed China for this. The Covid situation in China came to light when a citizen journalist named Zhang Zhan covered the news. After understanding the situation, she posted on social media about the Covid outbreak.
Now it is said that she was allowed to walk out after four long years. As per the international media, she walked out of the jail on May 13th, which is yesterday. The journalist is yet to comment on this.
Talking about her arrest, she was arrested in May 2020 when Covid was in its initial days. When Zhang Zhan was in Wuhan, she took to social media platforms to express her concerns about this.
After her posts started gaining popularity, she was taken into custody and a court sent her to prison. She spent as many as four years in prison. After a long wait, she was allowed to step out of the jail.
Earlier she grabbed everyone’s attention with alleged strikes in the prison as a bid to protest. A few media houses and journalists in other countries expressed severe concerns about her safety and the issue started to gain momentum.
In what could be a big development in the case, she was granted bail and allowed to step out of prison.
