CM Takes Objection To Indian Players Wearing Saffron Jerseys!

When we talk about team Indian players, a blue jersey comes to mind. For the past few decades, Indian players have been wearing blue jerseys though a few changes were made a few times. However, the players are also wearing orange-colored jerseys.

Indian players wore Orange color jerseys during the practice sessions. However, a few times Indian players wore Orange jerseys for the matches as well. We have seen this in the 2019 Edition Of World Cup. India lost the match and since then the players have been wearing jerseys for practice sessions only.

However, the players using Orange jerseys did not go well with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Reacting to the jerseys she alleged that the BJP is saffronising the cricket and asked what is the need to do such things.

Saying that Indian cricketers are wearing blue jerseys, she asked why Orange jerseys are used by the players when there are already blue jerseys.

Stressing that saffron colour paint is used for the metro stations as well, the Chief Minister alleged that the Centre is using the saffron colour and saffronising everything be it cricket or metro places or others.

"Now everything is turning saffron! We are proud of our Indian players and I believe they will be the world champion. But even their dress has been turned to saffron when they practice. They used to wear blue earlier," the Chief Minister said.
