Why Musk Targeting Indian Cockroach Party?
There have been several complaints about the restrictions and monitoring that has been happening in the Indian Twitter space as a large section of the Content here is regulated.
There have been several complaints about the restrictions and monitoring that has been happening in the Indian Twitter space as a large section of the Content here is regulated.
There is a complaint that the ruling government often initiates action from the administrative level to take down Content that is against their interests or misleading in nature.
Now we have the case of a cockroach janta party, which was formed as a social satire against the chief Justice comment that a section of unemployed youth have started to operate like cockroaches in the country.
However, this cockroach party immediately gained significant on social media as it quickly became the most followed political party in India, while beating the conventionally strong BJP. The cockroach party has more than 12 million followers on Instagram, which is the highest for any political party in India.
However, the interesting thing here is that the Twitter account of this cockroach party has been eradicated by the Twitter India administration. This particular page was taken down by the authorities yesterday.
People are now discussing whether the ruling NDA government is so very concerned and bothered about this cockroach party that they pressurised Twitter India to take it down. Or whether this is a regulator measure to avoid spread of misinformation.
A few people are of the opinion that the ruling NDA government might be bothered about the dramatic rise of this cockroach party and they could have decided to cut its social media campaign.
Even political experts are divided about this as a few people say it is good that such a social satire has been reduced in the early stages while a few other say that this is against the democratic spirit.
