The Congress party took a strong objection to this and Tamil Nadu Congress Disciplinary Committee reportedly issued a notice to Karti Chidambaram on the row seeking his explanation on this.

The MP reportedly said that neither Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge nor Rahul Gandhi can match Modi in terms of popularity and cited the PM post held by Narendra Modi as the advantage.

Not only that, the senior leader also reportedly expressed faith in EVMs. It is known that the Congress party is among the parties that are opposing the EVMs citing a few problems. But Karti surprised everyone and took a different stand from the party reportedly.
