This is an election time for India in the wake of the Lok Sabha elections which would be held in a phased manner. With this, the parties are busy campaigning and seeking voters. This is the case with any party. But the Congress party is surprising everyone by urging voters to vote for NOTA.

Yes, you heard it right. The grand old Congress party is asking the voters to vote for "None of the above" (NOTA) which indicates the voters are not interested in any candidate who is in the race. However, there is a catch in this and the Congress party wants voters to vote for NOTA only in one seat.

Earlier, the Congress party fielded Akshay Kanti Bam as the Indore Lok Sabha candidate. But he brought a big twist to the elections as he joined the BJP. He also withdrew his nomination as the candidate. With the decision coming at the last minute, Congress could not go for another candidate.

With this, the Congress party started a new campaign asking the voters to vote for NOTA. The party is giving a reason for this and is saying that with this they can teach a big lesson to the BJP.

Probably this is the first time a party is doing such things. Usually, parties either seek votes for the candidates or urge people to not vote for other candidates. But the Congress is asking the people to vote for NOTA.

While Akshay Kanti withdrawing his nomination is big news, the impact of the issue is that it spoiled the dreams of Congress. The grand old Congress party has been trying hard to win the Indore seat for over three long decades. But the Congress lost an opportunity.
