Winning and losing is a part and parcel of the game and everyone has to accept this. No matter how strong a team is it has to taste defeat when it is now its day. Fans of the team sometimes cannot digest the fact that the team lost the match and go overboard to vent out their frustration.

India entered the 2023 World Cup as hot favourites as the hosts. However, the team that remained unbeaten throughout the tournament lost one match that too in the finals. India lost the finals to Australia and ended the tournament as the runner-ups.

Fans could not digest the fact that India lost the finals and the ICC trophy drought continued. Australia Cricketer Glenn Maxwell’s wife Vini Raman who is of Indian origin became the target of a few Indians. In DMs, she was targeted and trolled.

Vini Raman gave a perfect reply to the trollers and urged them to take a chill pill. She said one can be Indian and can also support the country of birth.

As her husband plays for Australia she supports the nation and there is nothing wrong with this. She also said that instead of trolling people who support their country of birth, people should direct their outrage towards important world issues.

“can’t believe this needs to be said BUT you can be Indian and also support the country of your birth where you have been raised and more importantly the team your husband+ father of your child plays in #nobrainer..,” Vimi Raman said on social media.

Indian fans targeting cricketers and their families is not new. Earlier Mohammed Shami was targeted on the grounds of his religious identity. Despite this, he gave the best performance in the 2023 edition of the World Cup.
