No More Suspense: EC Announces New DGP For Andhra Pradesh!
The election commission announced Harish Gupta as the new AP DGP. The reports say that he was directed to take charge immediately.
Ahead of the much-talked-about Andhra Pradesh elections, the Election Commission ordered for the transfer of DGP K Rajendranath Reddy. Having passed orders for this, the election body also asked for the options on his replacement. Since then there is a big debate on who would be the next DGP.
The election commission announced Harish Gupta as the new AP DGP. The reports say that he was directed to take charge immediately. As per the information, the state government sent three names as per the seniority namely Dwaraka Tirumala Rao,Madireddy Pratap and Harish Gupta. Out of them Harish Gupta was picked and was asked to take charge.
Talking about Harish Kumar Gupta he is currently serving as the Principal Home Secretary.As a big feather in his cap, the 1992 batch IPS officer was appointed as the Director General of Police(DGP) of the poll-bound Andhra Pradesh.
He has been serving as the Home Secretary for some time. Out of all the names he was picked.He was the direct recruitee in the batch. He was directed to take charge before 5 Pm and he is expected to assume the office soon.
The decision came days ahead of the General elections in Andhra Pradesh. Putting an end to the long suspense, the Election Commission announced Gupta as the new DGP. Despite other seniors on the list, Gupta was picked by the EC.
