Indians have an unmatched love for the United States. Despite the rise in attacks the love is not decreasing but doubling. The slots to get Visas are filled like hotcakes. People living in the United States are struggling hard to get a Green Card, which is a permanent Visa.
The United States is slated to go for the much-awaited Presidential elections. The candidates are giving their best in the campaign. Former President Donald Trump who is seeking another term created a sensation with his promise on the Green Cards.
Donald Trump said Green Cards would be given to foreign students. He said that after completion of graduation, the students would be given Green Cards so that they can live here. The program includes Junior College graduates too.
In a Podcast, Donald Trump said he promised to work on this and he would make this happen if he is elected. While this is happy news for the students it goes against the views he had earlier. In the past, he said H-1B visas should be done away so that the locals would get great opportunities.
But there is a change in his stand now and he is promising Green Cards after graduation. The reason he is giving for this is that, with this, America will have the advantage of hiring smart minds. People want to live here. But they are moving to India, China and other countries. With this we can hire them, he said.
His words came as a big shock to everyone as his stand changed in five years. Earlier he said the locals should be preferred in employment and H-1B Visas should be done away. But he is offering Green Cards after Graduation.
However, there is an opinion that Donald Trump might have offered this to counter Joe Biden. Joe Biden announced a new immigration plan that helps spouses of US citizens to get permanent status. If this gets effective millions of people would get affected. Donald Trump’s promise is seen as a counter-strategy.
