Former US president Donald Trump is in the news once again. His controversial biopic ‘The Apprentice' was screened at the Cannes 2024 prior to its theatrical release. Sebastian Stan played Donald Trump in the movie it showcased the life of this successful businessman and politician before he achieved everything. Reports suggest that it got a huge ovation at the Film Festival but had a lot of explosive content which might land them in trouble.

It reportedly showcased Trump raping his ex-wife Ivana along with him having connections with the underworld in the 70s and 80s. Trump's team is not happy with how the politician is portrayed and they decided to take legal action against the movie makers.

They said, “We will be filing a lawsuit to address the blatantly false assertions from these pretend filmmakers. This garbage is pure fiction which sensationalizes lies that have been long debunked.” Steven Cheung added to the New York Post, “This ‘film' is pure malicious defamation, should not see the light of day, and doesn't even deserve a place in the straight-to-DVD section of a bargain bin at a soon-to-be-closed discount movie store; it belongs in a dumpster fire.”

However, the director told BBC, “Donald's team should wait to watch the movie before they start suing us. I don't necessarily think this is a movie that he would dislike… I think he would be surprised.”
