Court Pours Water On Trump's Wishes Of Contsting Elections!
A few surveys are also in favour of him that claim that he might have an edge over current President Joe Biden in a few states in the country.
The superpower nation America which enjoys the big brother status among the world nations is gearing up for the Presidential elections. All eyes are on the elections to see who manages to win the elections and enter the White House. Besides heavyweights, a few Indian-origin people are also in the Presidential race.
Former President Donald Trump is also in the race as he wants to enter the White House yet again. A few surveys are also in favour of him that claim that he might have an edge over current President Joe Biden in a few states in the country.
However, the verdict of the Court poured water on his dreams as it said he could not contest the elections. The Court gave a verdict saying that Donald Trump is not eligible to contest the presidential primary ballot in Colorado. This makes Trump the only President to face such a verdict.
But the catch in the development is that the verdict applies only to the Colorado state. The votes polled for the former President would be counted. However, Donald Trump can still challenge the verdict in the country's Supreme Court.
The Colorado Court in a 4-3 majority held Donald Trump responsible for the Capitol riots. The court said that his supporters were behind this and there is evidence to show Trump encouraged the supporters in the attack.
While giving the verdict, the Court cited the rules under which Donald Trump is barred from contesting the elections.
Donald Trump's lawyers said that he would move the Supreme Court seeking directives to stay the orders given by the state's highest court against him. As he is adamant about contesting the elections again, Donald Trump might knock on the doors of the Top Court to challenge the verdict.
Talking about the incident mentioned by the Court, back in 2021, the US was rocked by the capital violence. He was in power back then. Following the incident, he was banned from Twitter by the then management.
