The distraughtful and gutting incident involving Jaahnavi Kandula in the Seattle, city of United States is a tale of tragedy. Back in 2023, the young lady who’s a native of Kurnool got rammed by a police car and sadly passed away.
Subsequently, the Seattle city agreed to pay a financial compensation of $29 million to the family members. This roughly goes up to ₹262 crore in Indian currency, and this was a pretty significant financial package.
However, the latest developments are suggesting that the victim’s father has also sadly passed away. Incidentally, Srikanth Kandla, who is the father of Jahnavi went on a long leave after the passing of his daughter as he was unable to process this news.
In a tragic case that captured attention in India and the United States, the city of Seattle has reached a settlement of about 262 crore rupees with the family of Jaahnavi Kandula, a 23-year-old student from Andhra Pradesh who was killed in the US.
After nearly three years of legal process, Seattle agreed to pay 29 million US dollars to Jaahnavi’s family in a wrongful death settlement. Most of the amount will be covered by the city’s insurance, with the rest coming from city funds. Officials said the settlement is meant to bring some closure to a deeply painful ordeal.
In a heartbreaking turn, Jaahnavi’s father passed away just days before the settlement became public. He had taken extended leave from his job due to grief after losing his daughter.
The fact that the family has already lost the daughter and also Srikanth in this horrifying incident is again a strong indication of the fact that even surplus money can’t buy solace in this world.
