Wedding Season Results In Elections Getting Postponed!

The Election Commission of India recently buzzed the election siren for the poll-bound states. Earlier this week, the top election body announced the schedule for five states- Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Mizoram. The elections will be held next month.

But an interesting thing happened after the election in a poll-bound state was postponed. It is said that the Election Commission announced the same. Initially, the elections are slated to commence on the 23rd of November. But the elections are postponed by two days.

Going into details, the general elections in Rajasthan will be held on November 25 in place of the old date 23rd. It is said that the Election Commission announced the same and issued a statement. The reason behind this is the wedding season.

It is said that the old polling date had a lot of weddings and other events. Seeing this, the political parties in the state have written to the EC requesting to postpone the date.

Having looked into it, the EC postponed the election by two days. With this, the voters will not have a fear of missing out on voting in the elections due to weddings and other events.

On the other hand, Rajasthan weddings often draw big numbers. Umpteen number of customs and rituals will be followed at weddings. The family members, relatives, and friends will mark their attendance at the weddings. So the crowd at the weddings will be huge. If the election date is not postponed then a significant share of people can miss the polls.
