There are certain companies in the world that reward loyalty and hard work and here we have one such company in the United States that has rewarded its employees very handsomely.
A remarkable story of employee loyalty and leadership has emerged from the United States, where 540 workers of manufacturing company Fibrebond received an extraordinary bonus worth nearly ₹2000 crore. The payout followed the sale of the Louisiana based firm to global power management company Eaton in a deal valued at around 1.7 billion dollars.
What makes this deal unique is the decision taken by Fibrebond’s leadership to share a significant portion of the sale proceeds with employees, even though they did not own company shares. About 15 percent of the total sale amount was set aside exclusively for the workforce as a reward for their dedication and long term commitment.
The bonus pool amounts to roughly 240 million dollars, which will be distributed among 540 employees over a five year period. The actual amount received by each worker depends on factors such as years of service and role within the company. On average, employees are expected to receive several crores each.
Many employees were left stunned when the announcement was made, with some initially believing it was a joke. For several families, the bonus has been life changing, helping them clear debts, secure homes, fund education and plan for retirement.
The gesture has drawn widespread praise and is being seen as a rare example of corporate success being shared fairly with the people who helped build it.
