This would essentially mean that a large portion of the ticket buyers had already acquired the tickets for the World Cup. This resulted in huge revenue collection, even before the start of the tournament.

On top of that legendary players like Neymar, Messi and Ronaldo had speculated to be playing the final World Cup in their careers, and this added to the anticipation. Fans wanted to catch a glimpse of some of the biggest stars in football playing their last ever World Cup.

This resulted in a lot of revenue generation as well, considering that fans from across the globe wanted to watch their favourite superstar for one last time in action in the World Cup scenario. With so many factors included, this became the most anticipated FIFA World Cup till now, and that reflected in the revenue.
