First Government Supported OTT Platform To Come In India!
Dedicated OTTs are also there which focus on a specific language
This is the era of OTTs and we are living in it. Due to the soaring popularity and interest of people in consuming the content more and more OTTs are coming up. Dedicated OTTs are also there which focus on a specific language. This is the growth of the OTT space.
This was not the case of OTTs a few years back. OTTs have been existing for a long time. But the Covid outbreak made wonders for the OTT platforms. Due to the Covid scare the theatres were shut and the OTTs saw a big rise in popularity. OTTs became the one-stop destination for consumers.
If we look at the OTT platforms all of them are private entities as the private companies own them and there is no state-owned platform. Now God’s Own country Kerala is all set to start the OT platform that is backed by the government.Named CSpace, the OTT platform will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on the 7th of this month at the Kairali Theatre.
The OTT space is getting all the attention as it marks the first OTT platform backed by the government. Talking about the content, the OTT platform would have informative and entertaining content. State Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cherian will be the chairman of the platform.
The state government came up with the idea of the OTT space to fight the growing imbalances and multifarious challenges in the sector.
The Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC) was given the responsibility of running the OTT space. A dedicated committee was constituted consisting of 60 members who will monitor the content. Only the approved content would be allowed to stream.
God’s own country Kerala has the image of setting an example in almost everything. It is one of the few states which effectively dealt with the Covid. Yet again Kerala stood tall and is all set to start the first state-owned OTT platform.
