It is known that India is emerging as the soft power giant in the world. Despite the Covid impact the market in the country is seeing a few sectors putting up a massive show in numbers and spreading their wings. One such industry is the food service market which has a lot of potential.

The eating habits and food styles of Indians have changed largely over the years. Gone are the days when we went to an eatery and got the parcels. We can easily order what we want from the restaurants. The food delivery apps' emergence should be credited for this.

Not just the food orders people prefer dining and having food at the eatery. In some eateries, the atmosphere would be pleasant with the ambiance playing its role. All these factors made the food service sector a big player.

Now a study has found that the sector has so much potential that it might double in the next few years. The expected rise in customers is the major reason for this.

The latest study of Swiggy and Bain & Company on the market found some sensational things that say that the market of the sector might reach a massive Rs 9 trillion which is almost double the current numbers.

Right now the food service sector’s market stands at Rs 5.5 trillion which is a huge number already. But the numbers would go up to Rs 9 trillion in six years which is 2030.

As of now, there are around 320–340 million customers in the country. The study found that in the next six years, the customer count would see massive growth and reach 430–450 million.

Looking at the reasons for this, the income of people increased significantly compared to earlier and we can order anything starting from Rs 100. Digital payments are another big aspect. There is no worry about keeping the correct change.
