Going by the information shared by mainstream media, former Sri Lanka player Dhammika Niroshana was shot dead at his house by unidentified people. When he was with his family at their residence in Ambalangoda, the suspects entered his house and shot him.

However, the identity of the suspects is yet to be found. There is no information behind the motive of the attack either. Their lives changed upside down with the incident.

The former player has a wife and two children. In front of them, the suspects are said to have opened fire. The issue was reported to the concerned Police. A case has been filed and the investigation is underway.

Dhammika Niroshana had a good career in U19 and First class games. However, he could not make it to the national teams. Players who played under him managed to get selected for the national team and have long careers.
