Political parties getting funds from various sources is not new and this has been going on for some time. But the trend has become a big topic of discussion as a big debate is going on about the funds the parties accept and the electoral bonds.

Amid this, a report has come out which talks about the funds the parties received for the financial year of 2022-23. The report sheds light on the funds received by various parties in Andhra Pradesh including the ruling YSRCP and opposition parties-Telugu Desam Party and Janasena.

The numbers cited in the report say that the ruling YSRCP is at the top position while the Telugu Desam Party and Janasena are at the next positions. Pawan Kalyan’s party Janasena is at the last position.

As per the information, YSRCP received Rs 68 crores in donations for the financial year 2022-23. While the party received Rs. 52 crores through electoral bonds, the outfit received Rs. 16 crores via the prudent trust.

On the other hand, the Telugu Desam Party is in second place with donations of just Rs. 11.92 crores. There is a big difference in the donations the two parties received. Usually, there will be a difference between the amounts of the ruling and opposition parties but in this case, the difference is very big.

It is a big shock that Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena received just Rs 30 lakhs which is very less as the Communist parties are said to have received a big amount of Rs 2 crore.

Talking about the national parties, BJP received Rs. 520 crores and the Congress party received Rs. 132 crores. Out of Rs 520 crores BJP received Rs 256.25 crores from the Prudent Electoral Trust. It is no wonder that the BJP received a big amount compared to others as it is in power at the Centre.
