The IT sector is one of the most preferred by people as far as jobs are concerned. Employees working in the sector have some perks like dropping and picking and free meals. Team outings are also a benefit the employees enjoy. It is no wonder that many consider it as a dream job.

In particular to Gen Z, a term used to call people born between 1997 to 2005 it is a dream job and many youngsters had their eyes on the job. But the situation is different and the trend hints at a dangerous outcome.

It is known that the IT industry has been suffering from various issues and layoffs is the main trouble. The sector saw its peaks during the Covid outbreak with lockdown. Due to workload, the companies went for massive hirings. Even the freshers got good packages.

However, things started taking a worse turn with the situation coming back to normal. With no work burden, the companies laid off employees and the layoff trend is still intact. We are hearing companies irrespective of size are going for layoffs due to fear of possible recession.

Employees indulging in moonlighting faced a big shock as the employees were sacked. A lot of changes are taking place in the workplace. The shits are changing and new technologies are coming.

With this, the experts say that a dream job is appearing as a faraway dream for Gen Z. People are now slowly exploring other options for jobs. They are turning to social media as influencers and sharpening their skills in their area of interest. People who used to think highly about their dream job are having other thoughts that talk about the change in time.
