Name-Changing Regime: Ghaziabad To Get New Name?
Now it is said that the name-changing regime in Uttar Pradesh continues as Ghaziabad is likely to be renamed.
Firebrand leader Yogi Adityanath made Uttar Pradesh the strong fortress of the BJP. After a long time, a party won two consecutive elections in the state and this proves how big Yogi Adityanath's image is. Despite facing various parties, he took the party to a landslide victory and formed a government.
His Bulldozer style encouraged other BJP-ruled states to follow this. But what sets Yogi Adityanth's regime is that many places underwent name changes during his rule. Allahabad was renamed Prayagraj while a bill was recently proposed which seeks to change the name of Firozabad to Chandranagar.
Now it is said that the name-changing regime in Uttar Pradesh continues as Ghaziabad is likely to be renamed. The concerned civic body proposed three names Harnandi Nagar, Gaj Prastha, and Doodheshwernath Nagar. Once the proposal gets a nod from the CM, the change will get into effect.
The demand to change the name of Ghaziabad is not new and it has been going on for some years. As a big step in this regard, the Municipal Body passed the bill and now the ball is in the court of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. If he gives a nod, the change will happen.
As per the procedure, such change in the names needs approval from the Centre. BJP is in power at the Centre and there would be no issues in getting the approval. So everything is in the hands of Yogi Adityanath.
It has to be mentioned here that a few years back the Faizabad junction and the Jhansi railway station were renamed as Ayodhya Cantonment and Veerangana Laxmibai Railway Station respectively.
While the process is underway to change the name of Ghaziabad, a section of people are not happy with this and question the need to do so. Taking to social media they question the decision which needs a big exercise.
