Will Gnaneshwar Mudiraj get anything in return?
Kasani resigned from the TDP in protest against Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh Babu’s decision not to contest the elections this time.
Is former Telangana TDP chief Kasani Gnaneshwar Mudiraj selling himself quite cheap? Those who know KCR’s brand of politics say that Kasani, who headed the TDP in Telangana till recently, may not get anything in return for joining the BRS except some assurances from chief minister KCR. Whether these assurances become a reality is anybody’s guess.
Kasani resigned from the TDP in protest against Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh Babu’s decision not to contest the elections this time. Kasani indicated that he would join the BRS. He wanted to contest from some seat in Hyderabad for the assembly. There was also a buzz that he, a Mudiraj, would be fielded from Goshamahal constituency.
However, upon his joining the party at KCR’s farmhouse during the Rajasyamala Yagnam, he was told that he would be made Mudiraj Corporation chairperson after the BRS government returns to power. He was also assured that he would be given a ticket for Lok Sabha elections. This in fact means that he would get nothing immediately in return.
As for KCR’s assurances, one only has to ask seniors like Motkupalli Narsimhulu. He was promised moon while joining the elections during the Huzurabad byelections. He was made Dalit Bandhu chairperson. But, that meant nothing. He was refused the assembly seat and KCR did not even bother to talk to him when he left the party.
